Did you know there are more than 860 different kinds of vegetables in the world? Veggies are great for growing healthy bones, teeth, eyes, skin and brains. They are delicious raw and cooked. And the more colors on your plate, the healthier your food is for you! The next time you are having a snack attack, try some carrots, or celery sticks or cucumber slices. Challenge your friends to see how many different types of veggies you taste this summer. You'll be surprised how much extra energy you have and how great you'll look when school starts again!
Create your own multi-color veggie dish!

* You'll need a bowl and a spoon
* Add at least leafy green vegetable (lettuce, spinach, kale
and/or cabbage)
* Add at least one red vegetable (tomatoes. radishes,
sweet pepper)
* Add at least one orange vegetable (carrots and/or
squash)
* Add another green vegetable (cucumbers, celery, green
beans, olives and/or broccoli)
* Add a white vegetable (onions, mushrooms, jicima,
mushrooms and/or cauliflower)
* Add a purple vegetable (beets, cabbage and/or
eggplant)
* Now toss it all together and for an extra special touch,
add some of your favorite fruit
(like peaches, grapes, strawberries, apples, orange slices or pears)
* Add your favorite salad dressing.

The World's Biggest Salad!

The Spanish town of Pulpi set the world record for the WORLD'S BIGGEST SALAD.
The salad weighed 6,700 kilograms (which is 14,770 pounds and 15.55 ounces) and was made of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers and olives.
It took 20 cooks 3 hours to toss the salad. When finished, the salad was the restaurants in the town of Pulpi and served to diners for free!
