Parents & Educators
Welcome to KitchenKids!
Did you know that throughout history, the kitchen has served as the world's
original play and learning station?
Do you remember growing up in someone's kitchen - your parent's, your grandparent's, your neighbor's, etc. - where you were the official "taster" and learned things like how to prepare food, how to measure, how to budget, how to be safe in the kitchen, how to pay attention, the importance of eating nutritious foods, your family's food traditions; and, even non-food related things like how to tie your shoes, how to practice your reading skills and how to find something to do other than get in the way?
Established in 2004, KitchenKids! is the creation of a group of diverse parents and educators who desired to create a resource that is committed to being an asset to the village of elders responsible for growing 21st Century children.
We are guided by our simple mission: think children, think frugal, think inclusion, think humanitarian and pay it forward!
KitchenKids! provides kids ages 5-12 with a "edu-tainment" opportunities where they can learn self-esteem and life management skills, and have fun exploring
science, math & logic, geography, history, new languages and other cultures.
KitchenKids! also provides kids with a voice about everything related to creating a world that ensures their right to be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy kids!
KitchenKids! is a window for kids to peep into and connect with kids around the corner, around the community and around the world. We engage, facilitate, and support our members' ability to develop healthy relationships with kids and adults ~ while exploring and tasting the amazing aromas of life!
KitchenKids! is a safe environment where kids can visit independently or with their parents and teachers. Our members create their own special identities and are never asked or permitted to reveal their names, their home address, their e-mail addresses or their phone numbers. It is also where they are never bombarded with commercial appeals to buy this, order that and/or beg their
your parents to spend their money on whatever.
KitchenKids! is accessible and open to all kids ages 5-12 and we are kid-tested, parent-approved and educator-endorsed!
We cordially invite all of you BKICs (Big-Kids-In-Charge) to explore our site and consider engaging your most valuable assets in the wonderful world of KitchenKids!
Let kitchenkids! help you get ready to return to school!
Going back-to-school can be stressful for kids and big-kids-in-charge (parents & teachers). In addition to getting the supplies, the uniforms and the child-care in order, you need to prepare your children for how to do their best in the classroom, how to deal with potential bullying and how to make healthy food choices at home and at school. Visit our kids free sampler page and let us help you with these important conversations with your children or download a copy of the resource here (in English or in Spanish)'

It’s like the 21st Century Sesame Street! How do I sigh my kids & my grandchildren up? Wow and thank you! This is bringing our family closer together! I'm stunned! My child is now choosing kale and beets over cake! My kids would rather cook at home instead of going to fast-food restaurants! This is simply brilliant! |

~ An Asset in The Village!
Parents, educators, politicians and thought leaders in every discipline agree:
Innovative efforts are needed to ensure that today’s children have the skills and abilities needed to succeed in the 21stCentury. Schools, communities, the media, the internet & everyone and everything touching the lives of children must do a better job of growing people who possess the information, the emotional intelligence & the social accountability required to ensure the future well-being of the planet and the humans to whom it is entrusted. It is not something that can be put off until tomorrow. It is not something that any one group can do alone. It is not something that can begin after a person has reached the age to drink, drive or vote. It is not something depending on the religious or political affiliations of a child’s parents. It is not something that can exclude the children born to parents of whom we disapprove. It is not something we can afford to ignore, diminish or put off until it is...
more popular,
more convenient,
more politically correct,
more cost-effective to do.
All of the villagers have a voice in our kitchen! We communicate with kids, their parents and their educators to ensure our resources meet everyone's needs and interests.
